New York, NY and Las Vegas, NV (Oct. 13, 2015) – American Banker and BAI released the 2015 FinTech Forward rankings, including the full list of the Top 100 technology providers; the Top 25 enterprise companies in FinTech; and the FinTech Companies To Watch, innovative new companies that represent the future of financial technology. The full report was unveiled at BAI Retail Delivery 2015 and is available at FinTechForward.com.
American Banker and BAI have collaborated on the rankings since 2004 and through this strategic relationship, the FinTech Forward program reaches banking’s largest, most influential and most engaged community of executives and technology leaders. The program provides the industry with a comprehensive and forward-looking view of the strategic imperatives driving bank technology, both from the vendor and the user perspectives.
Tata Consultancy Services moved up to the No. 1 spot on the ranking of the top 100 technology providers to banking and financial services companies, nudging last year’s leader, FIS, to second with Fiserv again named as No. 3. IBM, Hewlett-Packard and Dell repeated their 2014 dominance of the list of the 25 largest technology companies that serve financial services, among other industries.
Some key trends for this year’s report include: the so-called “unbundling” of banks’ business models by nimble fintech startups; banks’ efforts to compete with the fintech and neobank challengers; the boom in investment in fintech companies; and key problems that some fintech startups are helping banks to solve, such as mobile account opening and secure yet quick authentication.
Penny Crosman, Editor in Chief of Bank Technology News and Technology Editor for American Banker, said, “By closely analyzing and reporting on the companies that are most directly impacting our industry – from the largest and best-established organizations to the most innovative new startups – FinTech Forward provides a strategic level of insight and commentary on the trends and issues that are driving the evolution of retail banking.”
“The 2015 FinTech Forward rankings represent an impressive list of fintech companies who are driving positive change within the financial services industry. This robust list is a powerful tool for financial services leaders to leverage when making strategic technology decisions,” said Holly Hughes, Chief Marketing Officer at BAI.
