    Matt Smith’s career in transportation has spanned 22 years.� Matt is MDOT’s Intelligent Transportation Systems Administrator, and has been with the Department since 2006.� In this role, he is responsible for setting and implementing the strategic direction for the state’s ITS and Connected Vehicle programs, and managing the Department’s $30 million annual ITS budget. He also participates in a number of national connected and automated vehicle initiatives, as an member of the AASHTO Vehicle to Infrastructure Deployment Coalition Executive Committee, a member of the AASHTO Transportation Systems Management and Operation Leadership Team, �a member of the multi-state Connected Vehicle Pooled Fund Study, a member of two NCHRP panels for Connected and Automated Research activities, �and a member of TRB’s Standing Committee on Vehicle-Highway Automation.� Matt received a degree in Civil Engineering from Penn State University in 1993.

    Mr. Jeremy Fine was named the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of the Chicago Transit Authority in February.� Prior to his arrival at CTA, Mr. Fine served as the Deputy Comptroller for the City of Chicago, overseeing the debt and credit portfolios. He previously worked as a Public Finance Officer at ABN AMRO / LaSalle Bank Capital Markets, where he was involved in underwriting bonds for various municipal issuers throughout the Midwest. Mr. Fine received a B.S. in International Relations/Systems Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a MBA from the University of Notre Dame. �

    Pete Saenz “New Voice; New Vision” agenda is focused on bringing trust and transparency to city government and bringing new industry and jobs to Laredo. He was elected Mayor in November 2014.Saenz is a third-generation son of Laredo. He graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy and earned a Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Animal Science and Range Management from Texas A&I University. He also earned a law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law.Saenz built a highly successful and distinguished law practice concentrating in Oil and Gas Law. He also worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.Pete has always been a devoted servant of his community. Previously, Saenz was elected for 12 years to the Laredo Community College (LCC) Board; four of which he served as Board President.     With a myriad of extensive experience in the public school environment, and a product of public schools herself, Dr. Kelly Crook was named the first Female Superintendent of Del Valle ISD in December 2011. Her financial acumen and long range planning expertise stems from her experience serving for six years as the Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations�and Director of Accountability�for Del Valle ISD. Dr. Crook’s background includes ESL classroom engagement�in the Dallas ISD and Frisco ISD, service as middle school�assistant principal in Leander ISD, and program specialist at the Texas Education Agency. �A native Austinite, she received her Ph.D. in Educational Administration from the Cooperative Superintendency Program at the University of Texas at Austin.�A fearless champion for her staff and students, Dr. Crook presides over a diverse�and�achievement-oriented district that serves�over 11,300 students on�15 campuses in southeast Travis County.

    Curt Beaulieu is Senior Counsel at Bracewell in Washington, D.C. He focuses on tax policy, providing advice on federal legislation and regulations.Prior to joining Bracewell, Mr. Beaulieu served for a decade on Capitol Hill working for several members in the House of Representatives and the Senate. During his tenure, he was Tax Counsel for the leaders of both tax-writing committees in Congress — the House Ways and Means Committee and the Senate Finance Committee.As Tax Counsel for the Senate Finance Committee, Mr. Beaulieu counseled on tax policy in a variety of legislation involving energy, financial services, transportation and health care.
